Founded in 1988, a family run business started by David Austin (DSA ADI since 1982) and later joined by his son Simon Austin (DSA ADI since 2007), we continue to strive to give the best quality service to: Pontefract, Castleford,  Featherstone, Knottingley, Eggborough, Fairburn, Normanton, Sharlston, Ackworth, Crofton, Hemsworth, Kippax, South Elmsall, South Kirkby and all of the surrounding areas near these towns.

David  & Simon are committed to making the roads safer for everyone by always  remembering our mission: To provide professional, tailored and cost-effective tuition.

In 2018, due to increased demand for lessons, David & Simon were able to introduce a new member to the PDA family: our first female instructor, Paula. 

 

Pontefract Driving Academy is proud to be an active member of the Pontefract Driving Instructors Association (PDIA). Founded in 2004, the PDIA holds regular meetings to discuss the new topics that are affecting the way driving will change in the future. In 2013 Simon took up the voluntary role of Treasurer for the PDIA. In 2020 Simon became the Chairman of the PDIA.

The Pontefract Driving Examiners also regularly attend the meetings, giving advice on certain road situations and the requirements of the Driving Test, helping us give you the best possible service and prepare you fully for test.
